Nancy Wartella McFarland received her BFA from Pratt Institute and continued her career as an illustrator, art director and photographer in Europe and then in New York, with close proximity to the Abstract Expressionists, including her studies with Jack Tworkov. She did extensive work with still-life composition in photography and collaborated with her husband, Lowell McFarland in his parallel work in photography and sculpture.
Awarded the 2019 Dagny Hultgreen Prize for Painting at the Greenwich Art Society 102nd Annual Exhibition, she is currently creating large figurative composition paintings in her Connecticut studio.
